John Thaw was my most famous customer

Whilst filming at Didcot Railway Centre an episode of Morse entitled ‘The Wolvercote Tongue’, John Thaw spotted my homemade jams and marmalades in the restaurant and bought several for his wife Sheila Hancock. He said she enjoyed homemade marmalades. This was in 1984 when I had just started making jam and marmalade to sell at the Railway Centre to raise some extra money for the restaurant which I ran as a volunteer Catering Manager for 10 years. The local press came to photograph John Thaw and the crew and my marmalade made the headlines with ‘Murder, Morse and Marmalade’.

Colin Dexter used to come to Wolvercote Farmers Market and was seen sampling my marmalade, which his daughter purchased.
Other Famous customers include Ed Vaizey , David Johnson, Sophie Grigson, Jo Thoenes, Helen Peacocke, Wesley Smith, Geraldine Peers, Phil Mercer, Christine Wallace, Lenny Henry, Antony Worral-Thompson and some I cant mention.
